Pregnancy and Birth Services
- Initial Consultation (Free)
An opportunity to meet each other. The most important aspect is to find a doula you are comfortable with, someone you sense would offer you support.
Prenatal visits provide us an opportunity to become more comfortable with each other. It is a time to discuss the mother's and partner's vision of an ideal birth. At this time we would also introduce comfort measures to discover what is most relaxing for the mother.
- 1 Doctor Visit (if requested)
Sometimes a doctor will want to meet the doula, or it could help you to feel more at ease.
During your pregnancy I am available for reassurance and information. Starting two weeks prior to your due date until birth, I am on call 24 hours.
- Home and Hospital Labor Support
I will provide labor support for hospital birth, birth center, or attended home birth. If needed, I will also provide support for labor at home.
Postpartum Services
I will stay 1 to 2 hours after birth to ensure that breastfeeding is well established for mother and baby.
I will follow up by phone within 24 hours. A home visit will be made within 10 days to go over birth, deliver birth story, and just to see how the family is adjusting.
Within 24 hours of the birth I will have photos posted, so friends and family are able to see the baby no matter where they are.
